New Gen05 sizing guidance

Black Duck has been upgraded to Gen05 sizing, offering significant improvements in resource optimization. The new hardware recommendations deliver 25% to 45% better efficiency, ensuring enhanced scalability and performance for modern workloads. Customers are encouraged to review the updated hardware requirements to take full advantage of these optimizations.

Detect 10 released and Detect 8 end of support

Detect 10 is now available, offering enhanced features and improvements. As part of this release, Detect 8 will reach end of support on October 31, 2024.

Key changes include:

  • Customers with Detect 8.x already configured will see a red warning indicator upon upgrade, advising them to transition to a supported version. A warning will also be displayed if they attempte to change away from Detect 8.x, as this action is irreversible.

  • The Detect 8.x option will no longer be available for new installations.

  • For upgrades, Detect 8.x will only appear as an option for customers who previously had it configured.

  • Detect 10 will now be the default for new customers or upgrades to version 2025.1.0 where the Detect property was previously unset.

Upcoming deprecation of project version hierarchical bill of materials

The project version hierarchical bill of materials (BOM) functionality in Black Duck is planned for deprecation in version 2025.4.0. Users relying on this functionality are encouraged to begin transitioning to alternative workflows to ensure uninterrupted processes.
